Inspired heavily by the work of Edward Tufte, I attempted to create an information design based upon a three dimensional bar graph. My goal was to create an info graphic that was as minimal as possible and conveyed the data as simply and effectively as possible. I did all that I could to avoid adding what Tufte calls "chart junk."

I chose to research something that I am interested in, which is idea of using a bicycle as a viable means of transportation. The logical solution for educating people to the benefits of the bicycle was to compare the use of the bicyle and the effects that it could have on the environment, as opposed to using an automobile as a primary means of transportation. To give the information more depth, I also chose to compare Indianapolis, Indiana to Portland, Oregon, two cities that have drastically different perspectives on transportation and urban planning.

The result is an info graphic that conveys a large amount of information with a small amount of visual explanation.
